About Chalet le 4

Once a traditional farmhouse, built in 1896, Chalet le 4 has been converted into a luxurious holiday accommodation for sporty people and families alike. Still retaining its original character, Chalet le 4 now consists of nine double bedrooms, divided over four self-contained apartments. The communal lounge, dining area and children’s playroom serve as the perfect meeting point for families or groups of friends who are looking to spend their holiday together. As our guests you are welcome to enjoy the on-site facilities, such as the indoor pool, gym and sauna, free of charge.

Although we, Eva and Piet Hein Schram, both worked in the banking industry before settling in Le Grand Bornand, we have always been passionate about sports and travelling. As a family of six and being avid travellers we never managed to find the perfect accommodation in the perfect location for both an active and relaxing family holiday, in winter as well as summer. Hence the creation of Chalet le 4!

As your hosts we live on-site and are at hand to assist you with any queries you may have and make your stay as relaxing as possible.

Le Grand Bornand

Le Grand Bornand is a traditional farmers’ village at about half an hour’s drive from Annecy and its lake and within an hour’s drive from Geneva airport. The village is proud to be ‘family-oriented’, which is reflected, for example, in Le Grand Bornand hosting the largest children’s festival in Europe every year.

In winter, Le Grand Bornand is a popular ski resort with 90km of ski runs, suitable for beginners as well as advanced skiers. Skiers are free to explore outside the slopes too, making the resort as big and challenging as one would like and free-style skiers of all levels can enjoy themselves at the snow-park. Le Grand Bornand is also very popular with cross-country skiers because of its 43km of cross-country ski-tracks.
In spring and summer, Le Grand Bornand is a cycling paradise with the Col de la Colombière, a frequent highlight in the Tour de France, at the village’s summit. If you are not too keen on cycling there are plenty of other things to do. The surrounding Aravis mountains chain are a hiking and paragliding-heaven; there are several tennis courts; a par-three golf course and a large aquatics centre. The beautiful medieval town of Annecy with its famous lake is nearby, so in summer you can even go sailing, sit on the beach or enjoy a meal in one of the many lakeside restaurants. Or perhaps you just prefer to enjoy the fresh mountain air with a glass of wine on a sunbed!
